Organizations
An organization is a billing and membership boundary. It holds your members, roles, plan and audit log. Organization settings never change how WhatsApp connectivity behaves.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
owner | Everything, including closing the organization and changing billing |
admin | Manage members (up to admin), projects, keys, instances, webhooks; view audit log and billing |
developer | Manage instances, messages, media, API keys and webhooks; read everything else except audit/billing |
agent | Team inbox only: read and reply to conversations, notes, contacts; see instance names. Always holds an inbox seat |
viewer | Read-only access to project resources (and read-only inbox access with a seat) |
Working in the team inbox also needs an inbox seat, assigned on the Team page and counted against the plan's seat limit.
Nobody can grant a role above their own; only owners can create owners, and an organization always keeps at least one owner. Invitations are emailed, single-use and expire after 7 days; they must be accepted by the invited email address.
Projects
Use a project per product and environment, for example:
| Organization | Projects |
|---|---|
| Acme (your app) | myapp-production, myapp-staging |
| Acme Clinics | Default |
Everything an integration touches is scoped to its project: an API key of myapp-staging cannot see instances of
myapp-production. Project settings:
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Retain message content | Off: outbound text is erased right after sending; inbound content is only delivered via webhooks |
| Store inbound media | On: received images/documents are downloaded to WhatsTIG storage and available via GET /v1/media/{id}/download |
| Default country | ISO country used to interpret recipient numbers given without a country code |
Deleting a project revokes its API keys, disables its webhooks and unlinks all its WhatsApp instances.
Plans and limits
Every organization has a plan (Free, Starter, Business, Enterprise). Plans set limits: number of instances and projects, monthly messages, queued-message backlog per project, API requests per minute and data retention, plus whether the team inbox is included and how many inbox seats it has. See Rate limits. Online payment is not enabled yet; plan changes are made by the WhatsTIG team.
Closing an organization
Owners can close an organization (dashboard → Organization settings). All instances are unlinked from WhatsApp, API keys revoked, webhooks disabled, and the data is permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period.
